Hema Thakur was born in a small village name “Undirkhand” in Jalgaon District and brought up in Bhusawal city, Maharashtra.
Hema, born in a lower-middle-class family and was eldest to three of her siblings. She was a bright student of Bharti Vidyapeeth, in spite of that she could only study till senior higher secondary. She was profound of art and creativity since her tender age but never taught by any professional. Young Hema got married to Mr. Vijaykumar Thakur, whose family later was settled in Mumbai.
Vijay being an engineer, was to travel to different cities for his construction-related work. and Meanwhile, she started developing her interest towards art and creativity.
With the help of her family, she started a New Chapter of her life where she found herself in the art and her art depicts the power of a Women and love. This belief made her trust herself and had made her achieve the dreams.
Hema won ‘Best Artist Award’ and ‘Artist of the Year’ Award by Spandan Group of Arts. Hema’s first international exhibition was in New York Art Expo 2016 where around 2000 solo artists have participated in it.
Hema was chosen amongst the 7 Artists with Unique Art. In May 2017, Hema was awarded as one of the Top 16 Contemporary Artist in the world by ‘Art Tour International Magazine’ in Italy, Florence. Later in August 2017, Hema made the world record by creating 64 types of arts within 6 hours with a social message in an event. Her Fusion Warli Art was chosen for the world record in the ‘Genius Book of World Records’ and ‘Wonder Book of World Records’.
Apart from New York and Italy, Hema has exhibited her work in different parts of India like in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Baroda, Goa, and Nashik. She is spreading the message of “Beti Bachao Beti Badhao” through her paintings.
She has given rebirth to the tribal 2D art and made it more colorful, contemporary and 3D. Hema says that she wants to inspire all the daughters and wants their families to believe in them, just like her and her family.
